About the app · Support · 日本語
TASTOCK ("the App") is provided by TempuraApps ("we"). This policy explains how the App handles user information.
1. Information we collect
The App does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number. Everything you record or enter — the seasoning’s name, its best-before date, tags, an overall rating, the taste scales you define yourself and where each bottle falls on them, a memo, and whether an entry sits under Tried or Wishlist in your collection — is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to or held on servers operated by us or by third parties. The only exceptions are the usage measurement described in section 3 and the Pro purchase processing described in section 4, each of which sends a limited set of information to external services. Neither includes your name or the content you record or enter.
2. Accounts and network use
No account registration is required to use the App. The data you record or enter stays on your device and is not transmitted externally. The App does, however, communicate with a limited set of external services for the usage measurement described below (section 3) and for purchase processing (section 4).
3. Usage analytics (PostHog)
To improve quality and features, the App measures anonymous usage with the analytics service PostHog. What is collected is limited to (a) app launches, updates, and moving to and from the background, and (b) opening the paid plan screen (including which feature it was opened from), starting a purchase of a paid plan, that purchase going through, that purchase not going through (the monthly or annual category, and the category of reason it failed), and restoring a purchase. Adding, viewing, or searching seasonings and collection entries is not measured at all. We do not send personal information such as your name or email address, nor the content you record or enter (seasoning names or memos). Any analytics feature that could carry the content you log is disabled: rage-click detection, which would send on-screen text, and surveys, which would send free-text answers as written.
Technical information automatically attached by PostHog may also be included: the App version, your OS type and version, your device type, and the App's display language. Your time zone is stripped before sending, because it can be used to infer your approximate region. For the same reason, the request the analytics SDK would otherwise make at launch to fetch feature flags — which carries your time zone in the request itself — is turned off. IP addresses are configured to be discarded on the analytics side, and we have specified that no region or location be inferred from them. Finer locations such as your city or your coordinates are never collected.
Each record sent carries an anonymous identifier created for that installation of the App. It exists so that actions from the same installation can be read as one thread. It is not tied to your name, email address, account, or any hardware identifier provided by the device, and we do not use it to identify you. It is never used to track your activity across other companies' apps or websites either. Deleting and reinstalling the App produces a new one. The data is stored in the EU region.
We have no way to connect that identifier to you as a person. For that reason we cannot act on requests to retrieve or delete one user's data individually. If you wish to stop the measurement entirely, please delete the App; nothing is sent after it is removed.
The App does not serve advertising or perform advertising tracking (IDFA and similar) of any kind. Nor do we use the information collected for advertising purposes, or provide or sell it to third parties.
4. Purchases (RevenueCat)
Purchases and restores of the App's paid features (TASTOCK Pro) are handled through Apple's App Store, and we use the subscription infrastructure service RevenueCat to manage purchases and entitlement status. Information such as your purchase status is therefore processed by RevenueCat. Payment details such as credit card numbers are handled by Apple and are never received by us. Purchases are managed under an anonymous identifier and are not linked to personal information such as your name or email address. Please note that RevenueCat is a service provided by a company based in the United States.
5. Notifications
Turning on notifications in Settings lets the App notify you with a local notification on your device when a seasoning's best-before date is approaching. The notification content is assembled entirely on your device and never passes through an external server. The App does not use push notifications (remote notifications) and never obtains a device token for that purpose. Notifications are off by default.
6. Data backup
The App can export your recorded data as a file (in JSON format) — TASTOCK Pro. An exported file is placed in the location you choose and is under your control. We do not access it.
7. Provision to third parties
We do not provide or sell your information to third parties for advertising purposes. Information sent to the external services described in sections 3 and 4 (PostHog and RevenueCat) for measurement and purchase processing is handled under each service's own privacy policy.
8. Deleting your data
Data stored on your device can be erased using the App's delete and reset features (Settings > Reset > Delete all data), or by deleting the App itself.
9. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy as features are added or changed. If a change is significant, we will announce it on this page.
