AsaLog Privacy Policy

About the app · Support · 日本語

AsaLog ("the App") is provided by TempuraApps ("we"). This policy explains how the App handles user information.

1. Information we collect

The App does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number. Everything you record or enter — your morning refreshed score (one of five), the reasons you pick, your note, and the time you logged it — along with the previous night's sleep read from Apple Health, is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to or held on servers operated by us or by third parties. The only exceptions are the usage measurement described in section 3 and the Pro purchase processing described in section 4, each of which sends a limited set of information to external services. Neither includes your name, the content you record or enter, or your sleep data.

2. Accounts and network use

No account registration is required to use the App. The data you record or enter, and the sleep figures read from Apple Health, stay on your device and are not transmitted externally. The App does, however, communicate with a limited set of external services for the usage measurement described below (section 3) and for purchase processing (section 4).

3. Usage analytics (PostHog)

To improve quality and features, the App measures anonymous usage with the analytics service PostHog. What is collected is limited to (a) app launches, updates, and moving to and from the background, and (b) opening the paid plan screen (including which feature it was opened from), starting a purchase of a paid plan, that purchase going through, that purchase not going through (the monthly or annual category, and the category of reason it failed), and restoring a purchase. Creating or viewing logs, and using the charts, are not measured at all. We do not send personal information such as your name or email address, nor the content you record or enter (your refreshed score, reasons, notes, or sleep). Rage-click detection, which would send on-screen text, is disabled because the content you log could be caught up in it.

Technical information automatically attached by PostHog may also be included: the App version, your OS type and version, your device type, and the App's display language. Your time zone is stripped before sending, because it can be used to infer your approximate region. IP addresses are configured to be discarded on the analytics side, and we have specified that no region or location be inferred from them. Finer locations such as your city or your coordinates are never collected. None of this is intended to identify a specific individual, and none of it is linked to an account. The data is stored in the EU region.

Each record sent carries an anonymous identifier created for that installation of the App. It exists so that actions from the same installation can be read as one thread. It is not tied to your name, email address, account, or any hardware identifier provided by the device, and we do not use it to identify you. Deleting and reinstalling the App produces a new one.

We have no way to connect that identifier to you as a person. For that reason we cannot act on requests to retrieve or delete one user's data individually. If you wish to stop the measurement entirely, please delete the App; nothing is sent after it is removed.

The App does not serve advertising or perform advertising tracking (IDFA and similar) of any kind. Nor do we use the information collected for advertising purposes, or provide or sell it to third parties.

4. Purchases (RevenueCat)

Purchases and restores of the App's paid features (AsaLog Pro) are handled through Apple's App Store, and we use the subscription infrastructure service RevenueCat to manage purchases and entitlement status. Information such as your purchase status is therefore processed by RevenueCat. Payment details such as credit card numbers are handled by Apple and are never received by us. Purchases are managed under an anonymous identifier and are not linked to personal information such as your name or email address. Please note that RevenueCat is a service provided by a company based in the United States.

5. Apple Health (sleep)

Only if you turn the connection on in the App's settings and grant permission in the device's Health app, the App reads sleep data from Apple Health. It is read-only; the App never writes anything back to Apple Health. It is used for one purpose: showing the sleep it reads alongside your morning logs — compared in a chart, and on the summary for the day you select in the calendar.

The sleep figures that are read are stored on your device only, as part of your logs. They are never transmitted to servers operated by us or by third parties, and they are never used for advertising or marketing purposes, nor provided or sold to third parties. They are also excluded from the usage measurement in section 3. You can change the permission at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Health, or in the Health app, and you can turn the connection off in the App's settings.

6. Data backup

The App can export your recorded data as a file (in JSON format) — AsaLog Pro. An exported file is placed in the location you choose and is under your control. We do not access it.

Importing an exported file back into the App is free. An import reads only the file you pick, and its contents are read and stored on your device alone. Nothing is transmitted to servers operated by us or by third parties.

7. Provision to third parties

We do not provide or sell your information to third parties for advertising purposes. Information sent to the external services described in sections 3 and 4 (PostHog and RevenueCat) for measurement and purchase processing is handled under each service's own privacy policy.

8. Deleting your data

Data stored on your device can be erased using the App's delete and reset features, or by deleting the App itself.

9. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy as features are added or changed. If a change is significant, we will announce it on this page.
