Frequently asked questions

Where do I start?

When you wake up, open the Log tab, pick how refreshed you feel from the five faces, and tap Save. That is a full day's entry. Reason chips and the note are optional — you can save with both empty.

Can I try it before logging my own mornings?

Go to Settings > Data > Add sample data to fill in two weeks of examples and look around every screen. You can remove the sample data from the same place, and your own logs stay.

I forgot to log yesterday. Can I add it later?

Yes. Tap that date in the Calendar tab, then tap the card below to open the entry screen. Days you fill in later count in the charts too. Future dates cannot be logged.

Can I log twice in one day?

One entry per day. Logging again on the same day replaces the previous entry. There is only one "how you woke up" per morning, and allowing several would break the averages and patterns.

What are the "points" in the charts?

Your five-step average rescaled to 100 (average ÷ 5 × 100). An average of 3.9 is 78 points.

Do I have to connect Apple Health?

It is optional. Logging, the calendar, and the charts all work with it off. Turn on Settings > Apple Health and the app reads the previous night's sleep and lays it over the comparison chart. It is read-only; the app never writes to Apple Health.

Sleep doesn't show up

Even with the connection on, nothing shows if the Health app has no sleep data for that night. Waiting for your Apple Watch to sync and reopening sometimes brings it in. If it still doesn't appear, check AsaLog's sharing settings in the iPhone Health app.

Reminders don't arrive

Check that Settings > Reminder is on, and that AsaLog is allowed in your iPhone's notification settings. Note that no reminder arrives if you have already logged that day — we don't nag you about something you've done.

Does my data sync to my other devices?

It does not. Your refreshed scores, reasons, notes, and sleep figures are stored only on your device. To move them when changing phones, use Settings > Data > Export JSON to save a file, then Import JSON on the new device. Exporting is an AsaLog Pro feature (importing is free).

Is anything I log sent elsewhere?

The content you log is never sent. Your refreshed scores, reasons, notes, and sleep figures stay on your device. The only external communication is purchase processing and anonymous usage measurement (app launches, opening the paid plan screen, and the result of a purchase or restore). See the Privacy Policy for details.

What happens to my data if I delete the app?

The logs stored on your device are removed with it. Before deleting, save anything you need with Settings > Data > Export JSON (AsaLog Pro).

About AsaLog Pro

What does Pro unlock?

Five things:

Everything else — logging each morning, adding, editing and deleting past days, viewing the whole calendar, the "Week" and "Month" charts (all four cards), adding, removing and reordering reasons, the appearance switch (Auto, Light, or Dark), reminders, the Apple Health connection and automatic reading of last night's sleep, filling in the last 30 days in bulk, importing logs from a JSON file, and the sample data — is free. There is no limit on how many days you can log.

Can I see the "Year" chart on the free plan?

When you select "Year", the last 30 days are drawn with your real data and the period before it appears blurred. Once your logs span two months or more, what is blurred is your own data. Before that, what is blurred is a note saying a year of your trend will appear as your logs build up — there are no logs hidden behind it. "Week" and "Month" keep working in full, all four cards.

How do I change my Home Screen icon?

Pick one from the icon samples in Settings > Theme. iOS shows a confirmation each time you switch — that comes from iOS itself and cannot be turned off. The color theme and the icon are chosen separately, so you can change just the colors, or just the icon. You can return to the default, Sea, from the same screen at any time.

I purchased Pro but it is not showing

Try "Restore purchases" in the app. You need to be signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account you used to buy. If it still does not appear, please get in touch.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Cancelling is done on the App Store side. Open Settings > your name > Subscriptions, choose AsaLog, and select "Cancel Subscription". You can reach the same screen from "Manage subscription" under Settings > Plan in the app.

After cancelling you keep the Pro features until the period you have paid for ends. Cancelling by itself does not produce a pro-rated refund (if you want a refund, see "I would like a refund" below).

If I cancel, what happens to my logs and settings?

Your logs are not deleted, and files you have already exported stay with you. What stops working are the five things above. The color theme returns to Sea, but the settings you chose are still saved — go back to Pro and your look returns. The appearance is a free feature, so it stays as you set it.

Your Home Screen icon stays as you set it — iOS keeps that choice on the device side, and changing it always brings up an iOS confirmation, so AsaLog won't change it back on its own. If you want the default, Sea, you can return to it any time under Settings > Theme. While you are on the free plan you cannot switch to the four icons other than Sea.

How do I check my renewal date?

The same Settings > your name > Subscriptions screen shows your next renewal date and price. Auto-renewal continues unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.

I would like a refund
